Every casino here lists Interac e-Transfer in its cashier or terms. They're listed in our recommended order, and payout times are each casino's stated time until we've timed them ourselves.

The short answer

Interac e-Transfer lets you pay a casino from your Canadian bank account and, where the casino supports it, receive winnings the same way. We compared 18 casinos that list e-Transfer and checked them on 22 Oct 2026. Your bank, not the casino, sets how much you can send in one transfer: Interac says limits are typically C$2,000 to C$3,000 per transaction. Interac Online, a different product, closed on 31 October 2024.

How an Interac e-Transfer deposit works

Casinos take e-Transfer deposits in one of two ways, and both start in the casino's cashier.

  1. Open the cashier, choose Interac e-Transfer and enter the amount.
  2. Follow the casino's instructions. Some casinos send you to a payment processor's page that walks you through sending the money. Others give you an email address and a reference code to use when you send the e-Transfer yourself.
  3. Send the e-Transfer from your bank's own app or website, using the reference code exactly as shown if there is one.
  4. Wait for the casino to credit your balance. If it doesn't appear, contact support with the transaction reference.

Pay only from a bank account in your own name, matching your casino account. A casino can refuse or return a payment from someone else's account. Once the casino has deposited your e-Transfer, you can't cancel it.

How to withdraw by e-Transfer

  1. Verify your identity first. A casino won't usually release a payout until your ID and address are confirmed.
  2. Choose Interac e-Transfer in the cashier, enter the amount and confirm the email address or mobile number registered with your bank.
  3. Wait for the casino to approve the request. Each casino's stated time is in the table above.
  4. Receive the money. With Autodeposit, it goes straight into your account. Without it, you get a notification and answer a security question to deposit it.

The payment may come from a payment processor rather than the casino itself, so the sender can be a company name you don't recognize. Check your junk folder if the notification doesn't arrive. Interac says a transfer can take up to 30 minutes, depending on your bank or credit union. For what slows a payout, see casino payout times.

Limits and fees

Two sets of limits apply to every e-Transfer at a casino, and the lower one wins:

  • Your bank's limits. Your bank or credit union sets how much you can send per transfer and over a day or week. Interac says per-transaction limits are typically C$2,000 to C$3,000 for consumers. Only your bank can change them.
  • The casino's limits. Each casino sets its own minimum and maximum for e-Transfer deposits and withdrawals, plus any daily, weekly or monthly payout caps.

Fees work the same way. Your bank decides whether sending an e-Transfer costs anything, and it may be included in your banking package. A casino can also charge its own fee, which will be in its banking or payment terms.

You need a Canadian bank account

Interac e-Transfer works only with a Canadian bank account at a participating bank or credit union, through online or mobile banking. Without one, you'll need another method. The account should be in the same name as your casino account, because casinos match the two before they pay out.

Interac Online is gone: what casinos use now

Interac Online, which let you pay some websites directly from your online banking, has not been available since 31 October 2024. If a casino page or review still mentions it, the page is out of date. Casinos now take Interac e-Transfer, often through a payment processor.

When an e-Transfer payment goes wrong

  • Your deposit hasn't appeared. Check that you used the exact reference code, if the casino gave you one, and that the amount was within its minimum and maximum. Then contact support with the reference and the time you sent it.
  • Your bank declined the transfer. You may have reached your daily or weekly sending limit. Your bank can tell you, and only your bank can change the limit.
  • A withdrawal is late. Ask the casino whether the payment has been approved and sent, and for the date. Payments sent but not received are a question for your bank.
  • You can't answer the security question. Contact the casino, which sent the transfer and set the question. Turning on Autodeposit avoids security questions in future.

Interac says it can't help with individual transactions, so start with the casino and then your bank or credit union.

Other ways to pay

  • Bank transfer services. iDebit and similar services link to your online banking and can handle deposits and withdrawals. They're the nearest alternative to e-Transfer.
  • E-wallets. An e-wallet holds money in a separate account, so the casino never sees your bank details. Moving money from the wallet to your bank is an extra step.
  • Debit and credit cards. Quick for deposits. Your card issuer may decline gambling payments, and some casinos can't pay winnings back to a card. Gambling on credit adds interest to any losses.
  • Prepaid vouchers. Deposits only, so you'll need another method to withdraw.

Whatever you choose, casinos usually pay out to the method you deposited with, where it allows withdrawals.

Is Interac e-Transfer safe for casino payments?

You send an e-Transfer from your own bank's app or website, so you don't give the casino a card number or your banking password. A few precautions still apply:

  • Log in to your bank only through its own app or website. Be cautious of any page that asks for your online banking password on someone else's site.
  • Check the amount and reference before you send. You can't cancel an e-Transfer once it has been deposited.
  • Keep the casino's transaction reference until the money shows up.
  • Never send an e-Transfer to an address someone gives you by text or email claiming to be from a casino. Use only the details shown in the casino's own cashier.

Your bank's transfer limit also works as a brake on spending. For a firmer one, set a deposit limit in your casino account too, and see our gambling help page if you want to talk to someone.

Questions people ask

Which online casinos accept Interac e-Transfer?

The casinos in our table list Interac e-Transfer in their cashier or terms as of our last check. Not every casino that takes e-Transfer deposits pays withdrawals the same way, so read the banking page before you deposit. Payment options change, so confirm in the cashier before you send money.

How long do Interac e-Transfer withdrawals take at online casinos?

There are two waits. First the casino approves your request, and each casino's stated time for that is in the table. Then the transfer itself, which Interac says can take up to 30 minutes depending on your bank or credit union. We'll add our own measured times once we've timed real withdrawals.

Are there fees for using Interac at online casinos?

There can be two kinds. Your bank decides whether sending an e-Transfer costs anything, and it may be included in your banking package. The casino may also charge a deposit or withdrawal fee, which it should state in its payment terms. Check both before you deposit.

How much can I deposit at a casino with Interac?

The lower of your bank's limit and the casino's maximum. Interac says bank limits are typically C$2,000 to C$3,000 per transaction for consumers, and banks also set daily and weekly limits. Only your bank can change your limit. The casino sets its own minimum and maximum deposit.

Can I still use Interac Online at casinos?

No. Interac Online has not been available since 31 October 2024. Casinos now take Interac e-Transfer, usually through their cashier or a payment processor. If a site still lists Interac Online, its payment page is out of date, so check the cashier for what it really accepts.

Why did my casino withdrawal come from a company I don't recognize?

Many casinos pay e-Transfers through a payment processor, so the sender name on your notification can be the processor's company name rather than the casino's. If you're unsure, check the transaction reference and amount against your casino account, or ask the casino's support team who sends its payouts.

Do I need to verify my identity before an Interac withdrawal?

Yes, in practice. Casinos check your photo ID and proof of address before they pay out, and may ask for proof that the bank account is yours. The name on your bank account must match your casino account. Verify when you open the account so your first withdrawal isn't delayed.

Is it legal to use Interac at online casinos in Canada?

Interac is a payment network. It doesn't decide which gambling sites are allowed where you live. That depends on your province and the site, and our province-by-province guide explains who runs and regulates online gambling in each province and territory we cover.
