How we review casinos

How we review each casino: what we check, how we test deposits and withdrawals, what a casino's claim means, and how often we recheck.

Every casino we list gets a full review against the same checklist: deposits and payouts, bonus terms, account and support, and safer-gambling tools. Figures the casino states, such as payout times, are labelled as its own claims until we've tested them. We'll add a Reach Score from 0 to 10 to each review once our own tests are complete, and a commercial deal never changes a score.

The four areas we review

AreaWhat we look atWeight in the Reach Score
Deposits and payoutsPayment methods, fees, withdrawal limits and payout timesSet before scores are published
Bonus termsWagering, maximum cashout and time limitsSet before scores are published
Account and supportHow long ID checks take and how quickly support repliesSet before scores are published
Safer-gambling toolsDeposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusionSet before scores are published

The weights are our current proposal and haven't been signed off yet. We'll publish the final weight of each area on this page, and date any change to them.

How we test a casino

When we test a casino, a named person follows six steps and keeps a dated record with screenshots. Results appear on the review with their dates:

  1. Account: opens an account in their own name on the casino's own sign-up page, not through our links, and records how long the ID check takes.
  2. Deposit: deposits with the main local method and one other, noting fees and timing.
  3. Withdrawal: withdraws and records the time from request to money in the bank.
  4. Support: asks every casino the same question and times the reply.
  5. Terms: reads and saves the terms: wagering, maximum cashout, limits and expiry.
  6. Safer gambling: checks for deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.

What "Not yet tested" means

Some figures come from the casino rather than our own tests, such as a stated payout time. We label those as the casino's claim, and a claim never scores as if we had measured it. When we test, the result replaces the claim and shows its date.

Who sets a score, and how often we recheck

When scores are published, the score sheet sets every score and a named reviewer signs it off. People who manage commercial deals can't change a score. A casino's place in a list reflects our partnerships as well as our review, and we say so above every list. Any manual change is logged with a reason.

We recheck every offer within 21 days of its last check, and repeat timed tests when a casino changes its payment terms or limits. The "last checked" date on a page moves only after a recheck. To report an error, use our contact page.
