Stake review (2026)
Reviewed by Robert Sciberras · Updated · Offer terms checked 23 Oct 2026
Stake is a large crypto casino and sportsbook that has run since 2017. It takes Canadian players outside Ontario and Alberta, with CAD by Interac e-Transfer or card as well as more than 20 cryptocurrencies. The welcome offer is a 200% match on your first deposit, credited by support after an account check, but the cap depends on the affiliate code and isn't published for our link. Wagering is on your deposit plus the bonus, 40x according to reviews, and low-edge games count for less.
Casino Reach is paid by the casinos on this page when you join through our links, and our partnerships shape the order they appear in. The terms and payout times we show come from each casino’s own pages. How we make money

Pros and cons
What we like
- Casino, Stake Originals, live tables and a full sportsbook on one account
- CAD deposits and withdrawals by Interac e-Transfer, Visa or Mastercard, plus more than 20 cryptocurrencies
- Stake sets no maximum on crypto withdrawals, and CAD payouts take up to three business days
- Deposit, loss and wager limits you can set yourself, plus product breaks and self-exclusion

Watch out for
- The bonus cap for our link isn't published, and the bonus is credited by support rather than automatically
- Wagering counts your deposit plus the bonus, and low-edge games such as blackjack count for much less
- Many slots and some whole studios are blocked while a bonus is active
Signing up and ID checks
Stake can ask for documents at any time, and always before a withdrawal if it chooses. Before your first CAD deposit you need to verify your email, and Stake may also ask you to verify your phone number. CAD withdrawals need what Stake calls KYC Level 2: a photo of your passport, national ID card or driving licence, front and back for the last two.
The help centre asks for a colour photo of the original document, valid for at least three more months, in Latin script, with no screenshots. Proof of address can be a utility bill, bank or card statement, tax letter or tenancy agreement issued within six months. Mobile phone bills aren't accepted. Stake may also ask for a selfie holding your ID or proof of your source of income, and some players report being asked for these at later levels.
You must be 18, or the legal gambling age where you live if that is higher. In most provinces that is 19.
A 200% first-deposit bonus, credited by support after a check
Stake doesn't show a welcome bonus on its promotions page. Its help centre says new players get the welcome offer through an affiliate's link or code, which can be added up to 24 hours after sign-up. Review sites describe the same deal: a 200% match on your first deposit, credited by hand after Stake reviews the account, usually within 24 to 48 hours. Goal.com's Canadian review says you contact live support to get it, after verifying your ID.
The cap depends on the affiliate code. Codes on review sites carry caps of up to C$5,600 (casino.org's Canadian page), and some are far lower: LCB.org lists $1,000. Minimum deposits run from C$15 (casino.org) to C$100 (gambling.com Canada). We haven't seen the cap or minimum for our link, so check with support before you deposit.
The wagering maths. Stake's deposit bonus policy says the multiple applies to your deposit plus the bonus. Casino.org, LCB.org and SI.com all give 40x, though Stake's help centre says the multiple can vary by affiliate. Deposit C$100 and you get a C$200 bonus. You then need C$300 × 40 = C$12,000 in bets before you can withdraw.
That figure assumes games with a 4% house edge. Stake counts each bet by its edge: a game with a 1% edge counts C$0.25 for every C$1 you bet, and sports bets count C$0.75. A slot paying back 97% has a 3% edge, so C$12,000 of credit needs about C$16,000 of spins. A long list of slots, and every game from studios such as Playson, EGT, Amusnet and 3 Oaks, can't be played while the bonus is active.
You can't withdraw until you finish the wagering or use up the balance. Casino.org gives a maximum bet of 10% of your deposit plus bonus, while SI.com says 1%. Neither figure appears on Stake's own pages. We found no time limit and no cap on winnings, but Stake's terms let it cancel bonuses that aren't claimed within 60 days.
About 3,200 games for Canada, plus Stake Originals and a sportsbook
Casino.org's Canadian review counts more than 3,200 games available to players in Canada, from over 48 studios. Thespike.gg counts more than 4,000 across the whole site. Some games you can see on the site aren't open to Canadian players: casino.org found 107 live games, of which 31 were available in Canada.
Studios include Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City, Play'n GO, NetEnt, Red Tiger, Games Global, Relax Gaming and Push Gaming.
Stake Originals are the site's own games, made since it opened in 2017. They include Dice, Plinko, Mines, Crash, Limbo, Keno, HiLo and Dragon Tower, plus versions of blackjack, baccarat, roulette and video poker. Stake explains how each result can be checked on its Fairness pages.
The sportsbook sits on the same account, with live betting, odds boosts and early payout offers. There is a poker room too.
Interac, cards and 20+ cryptocurrencies, with CAD payouts in up to 3 business days
Stake runs a CAD wallet as well as crypto. For CAD, the help centre covers Interac e-Transfer withdrawals and Visa or Mastercard deposits and withdrawals. Card payments in CAD run from C$5 to C$3,000 each, and a card withdrawal can only go back to a card you deposited with. Stake doesn't publish Interac minimums or maximums.
For crypto, Stake lists 21 coins, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether, USD Coin, Dogecoin, Solana, XRP and Tron. You can also buy crypto inside the wallet through MoonPay or Swapped.
Stake says Interac and card withdrawals take up to three business days, not counting weekends and holidays. It gives no time for crypto, though review sites report crypto payouts within minutes. Crypto withdrawals have no maximum, and each coin has a small network fee, such as 1 USDT.
What slows a payout: every deposit must be wagered once before you can withdraw; an active bonus locks withdrawals until its wagering is done; CAD withdrawals need ID checks first; and withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with.
An iOS betting app, 24/7 live chat and a large help centre
The Canadian App Store lists Stake Betting - Real Money. It covers sports betting only. There is no Google Play app, so Android users, and anyone who wants the casino, use the mobile browser.
Support runs through live chat around the clock, but you need to be signed in to use it. You can also email support@stake.com. The help centre is open to everyone and has articles on CAD deposits and withdrawals, bonus wagering, verification and limits.
Deposit, loss and wager limits you can set yourself
Stake's Responsible Gambling page lets you set limits without contacting support. Deposit limits are daily. Loss limits and wager limits can be set for a day, a week or a month. Lowering a limit works at once, while raising one takes 24 hours.
You can block yourself from the casino or the sportsbook for 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days, or indefinitely. Break in Play locks the whole account for a day, a week or a month. Self-exclusion is indefinite, with at least six months before Stake will review a request to return.
The page also has a self-assessment, a budget calculator and links to Gamblers Anonymous and Gambling Therapy.
Who this casino isn’t for
- Players in Ontario or Alberta, where Stake doesn't accept sign-ups
- Bonus players who want a fixed cap and simple wagering rules
- Players who want a casino app, as the iOS app is for sports betting
Questions about Stake
Is Stake available in Canada?
Yes, outside Ontario and Alberta. Stake's terms list both provinces as places where the site can't be used, along with countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom. Players elsewhere in Canada can use a CAD wallet with Interac e-Transfer or cards, or play with crypto.
How do I get the Stake deposit bonus?
Sign up through a partner link or code, verify your ID and make your first deposit. Support then credits a 200% match, usually within 24 to 48 hours, and some reviews say you need to ask live chat for it. The cap depends on the code. Wagering is on your deposit plus the bonus, 40x according to reviews.
How long do Stake withdrawals take?
Stake's help centre says Interac e-Transfer and card withdrawals in CAD take up to three business days. It gives no set time for crypto, though reviews report payouts within minutes. You must wager each deposit once first, and CAD withdrawals need ID checks.
What is the Stake minimum deposit?
Card deposits in CAD start at C$5, according to Stake's help centre. Crypto deposits have no set minimum. The welcome bonus may need more, as Canadian review pages quote minimums from C$15 to C$100 depending on the code. The cashier shows the limit for each method.
